Most employee work 24/7 accommodating people in multiple time zones. If you are in Pacific Time Zone, you day at work normally starts around 6AM. There are no processes around anything. Company follows a legacy process that they invited which doesn't align with reality of how cross-functional disciplines operate. Design processes are being recognized by or followed by anybody even design teams as they mainly care to align with whatever legacy rule they have to follow. The people who have a seat at the table when making decisions are mainly the execs. Often, designers end up designing products that look like garbage and present no logics.
Salaries almost never increase even though they are supposed to raise every year. You see 50something dollars more in your paycheck after you've been company slave for a year.
Designgers whose job is to invent Healthcare products are often dominated by former medical workers who joined Philips to perform medical exams and assist Engineering. If you are a designer, you are being perceived as a wireframe monkey whose job is to follow what the medical professionals will tell you. The moment you advocate for a better user experience, your presence can become a problem.
People who manage designers mostly care about their reputation but not about the happiness of their employees at work.
Salaries are low. Once you've joined, forget about raise.
