Your first question from interviewer should be- Philips or GBS? GBS is an organisation within Philips from where few activities are outsourced (GBS is a KPO of Philips). GBS operates from Bangalore and Chennai. DO NOT JOIN Finance and Analytics functions because they are in GBS and GBS is managed by the worst top management in the world. There is no weekend, no personal life and in fact no time for lunch, dinner or sleep and if you are away from your system even to take a small break to stretch your arms your manager will immediately call you. If you do not answer the call it will be escalated.
GBS do not follow any good HR policies -
-Director/Manager can humiliate you and shout at you.
-Director/Managers are also from China and they humiliate Indians.
-Director/Manager can have their favourite employees (an old friend or relative) who gets promotion and good salary hike every year. These favourite employees get credit of all the works he/she has not done. And the employee who has actually done the work will not even get a "Thanks". In fact can be fired because work is done and this employee is not needed anymore.
-Director/Manager plays cheapest politic I have ever seen. You will be put on PIP if you write your honest review about their unethical practices.
-There are lots of IJPs but you can’t move easily and to be honest even if you move you will be moved to another part of this hell!
-In every meeting Director/Manager says "Take break" and "Take off" but if you literally ask for a break or off manager will give you 100s of reason for not letting you take break.
-If you are doing a good job, 2-3 contract workers will be fired and you will be overloaded with their work too.
