Pros

The business they are in, essentially sub-prime credit lending, will continue to grow as long as people as whole continue to manage their finances poorly. Purchasing Power provides a service few want to be in and will benefit from that regardless of what they do.

Cons

They spend a lot of energy on trying to build a culture and it is probably the most toxic environment you'll ever experience in a professional setting and it comes from the top down. Now couple the toxic environment with incompetence and you have recipe for something special. From the CEO falling asleep in meetings to asking everyone to write a their complaints on an index cards so he can read them out loud in a townhall to bad hires at senior levels - every decision is riddled with problems due to the lack of leadership acumen - just because you have been with or started with the company early on, doesn't mean you are qualified to run it. The leadership team either is completely unaware or don't care that their behavior drives most of the problems. There are pockets of good and smart people, but the deck is stacked against them. Essentially, leadership wants people to tow the line and parrot whatever gibberish they want you to say. Get out of line and you won't be around long - It has happened to too many smart and talented people.

Pros

Great people who work very well together. Lots of great tenure which creates ample opportunities to learn from experts. The now former CEO (Trey) is a genuinely nice person who takes every opportunity to engage with people at all levels. Most people are very easy to work and collaborate with. People are always willing to help.

Cons

Very heavy workloads that are not sustainable long term, it's challenging to be effective and strategic in your role when competing projects/tasks consistently pull you in various directions. The organization thrives in chaos which can be difficult to acclimate if you are accustomed to getting things done as there is little to no time to focus to actually execute. There are countless hours/days spent on tasks or unmeaningful work, often repeat work that consumes your time that leave you absolutely drained at the end of the day. The level of micro management and task delegation is something like I've never experienced.
