Pros

- Pay is 10% more than other companies (trust me, I've been to 5 interviews for a similar position) - Opportunity to travel to Chicago or Singapore if there is a project is always nice - Lunch in the cafeteria is subsidized - People are pretty cool in Commerck Services, Sales and Marketing and Logistics - Benefits are stock options are nice!

Cons

- 4 days a week in the office is mandatory (very strict policy) - People in management positions dont really care about their team - ZERO career path - Very bureaucratic and the red tape can be cumbersome - Evening calls with other businesses unit - If you don't network with the right people and dont get visibility within middle/upper management, you will NEVER get promoted. - Most of the people I talk to are either going in burn out, want to go on burn out, want to leave the company or are waiting for a package to get laid off - People feel stuck, overlooked, or dependent on networking instead of merit

Pros

Benefits are fantastic, employee share program, inexpensive insurance options with generous HSA contributions ($3000 per year), ample opportunities for career growth for those willing to relocate (internationally sometimes)

Cons

Mining is cyclic, layoffs are always a looming threat, depending on role 50-60 hr work week is common

Pros

Local environment is very friendly and laid back. Everyone is helpful. The benefit package is nice as well. We do get the option to purchase company shares, 100% company match up to 6% for 401k plus additional deposits.

Cons

Our company was recently purchased by Rio Tinto and their IT groups are very secular and specialized which makes it hard to communicate and get things resolved. I’ve also compared my salary to others with the same job title within manufacturing companies in my state and found my salary is way below the benchmark.
