Pros
Free food & hot drinks at breaks Free parking onsite
Cons
No progression between departments Hostile atmosphere towards staff sharing ideas and opinions Arrogant and bullying middle management No flexibility for part time working conditions Holiday entitlement is at govt minimum requirement Parental leave is also govt minimum requirement Less opportunities if you are female in terms of progression and especially if you have time off for having children. Long service recognition is a joke - a pen for 5 years.. it gets worse after Communication around the company is terrible. And staff are segregated into their individual departments and not encouraged to mix & talk with staff in other areas. Discussion about Salary is frowned upon to disguise the fact they pay different people wildly different salaries for the same job in the same department. Pay rises for new skills learnt are not automatically paid, you have to fight for the rise your entitled to. They do this so they can get more work out of you without actually bothering to pay you. And just hope staff either don't notice or are not brave enough to stand up for themselves. Because the company is privately owned and run as a charity. There is zero management oversight and no way to remove managers that are either terrible at their job and lower productivity or worse actually break the law. It's a boys club that all cover eachother at the top and with no oversight, you can never get better & more qualified managers in and remove bad apples. Which has led to a negative, backwards looking, stagnant approach to management in the modern world.
