A company that has lost it's way...

Pros

Free biscuits and fruit at breaks Free canteen for lunches Christmas bonus scheme Work/life balance good Mon/Fri 9-5 shifts Some fantastic very talented people that work there

Cons

There are too many cons to fully list unfortunately, however during my employment i have witnessed Bullying Harrassment Favouritism Sexism To mention but a few, it has become a Toxic and depressing place to work all of the above behaviours have been observed being perpetrated by management at every level on staff members. Management treat staff with an arrogant contempt and you are nothing but a number plain and simple. You are treated and spoken to as a replaceable piece of meat and there are no practical benefits for working at the company long term, the benefits have been eroded so much that the only benefit of turning up each month is collecting a paycheck. There is a Christmas Bonus scheme however this is used as a weapon against the staff and you are micromanaged to an autocratic extreme, and any minor infraction will result in your bonus potentially being reduced. Staff regularly come in sick to avoid getting penalised and hurting their bonus (even though sick pay is provided) this has been a problem especially during the pandemic where company profits and service lead times were placed above staff safety in importance. I would not currently advise that anybody choose employment at Rolex as nobody deserves to be treated the way staff are currently treated at this company.

Pros

I've met some fantastic people. Sick pay. Free food in canteen. Best thing is not having to work in London. Regular overtime. Christmas bonus. If you can get in with the right people you can go further. Medical care if you are management.

Cons

I've met some awful people. Bullying. Sexism. Favouritism. Definitely a boy's club that is hard to access if you are female. Not everyone is given the same opportunities as those who are best friends with management. Safety restrictions during covid were a bit of a joke and we were put unnecessarily at risk during lockdowns. No opportunities or flexibility for women following maternity leave, particularly part time opportunities, most women leave or are forced to return full time. No health benefits. Toxic work environment is encouraged with stepping on colleagues and snitching rewarded. If you have no moral compass you'll fit in fine!

Predictable, clean, free fruit, highly structured, relative job security, friendly employees

Cons

treated as a commodity, benefits gradually being taken away, some bullies in management, high staff turnover, not allowed to speak; you will get told off.
