Pros

I absolutely enjoyed my internship experience! The internship program is very well organized and they really do take care of their interns. In the short 10 weeks, I can confidently say that the internship experience prepared me for what it means to be a retail leader and manage a multi-million dollar store. I gained a better insight into managing an entire store of staff and merchandise, theft prevention, HR, hiring and onboarding, product placement and other related topics. Overall, great experience.

Cons

The only con is that you might work with and management unprofessional or unmotivated staff members. This can at times feel like babysitting. Other than that, I would say the experience was pretty great.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
