Pros

20% discount off all merchandise Good feedback from managers Appears to be fairly easy to be promoted to a supervisor, depending on which store you are at I didn't work here for very long, just one summer, but what I found was a decently run company.

Cons

It was in the depth of the recession and I couldn't find work anywhere, so I decided to just go ahead and get a retail job. The pay was minimum wage and they only offered part time to start. As a retail associate, you spend most of the day cleaning up the store only to see it demolished again within an hour. It's not very fun work, but it's easy. I worked at a very fast paced place before Ross, so it was kind of nice to relax and take a breather here. The lines were never long, customers and other employees were generally friendly. So like I said, not the most fun work in the world, but if you need a little money, it's an easy job.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
