Pros

The reputation of the company. Valuable cultural experiences if you are interested in working with/in Asia. Benefits.

Cons

The working style! Samsung has a very strong working culture. It is very hierarchal, there is very little innovation and most orders come from the top and have to be followed at any price, in most cases without reflecting what is a good idea and what is not. Deadline are always short, and you are expected to overwork and sometimes weekend work to meet them. Being a foreigner in Samsung is not easy. People are recruited with the promise that Samsung employees can communicate in English, that is far from true. As a non-korean you should be prepared to feel like an alien at times and be left out from many of the team interactions, knowing what is going on is not easy. The career path for a non korean speaker is very limited.

Excellent management. Smart people. I feel safe there. They take reports seriously and thoroughly investigate wrongdoing and take action to protect employees.

Cons

None. It’s the perfect employer.

Pros

Great products. Everyone gets to travel at least once per year.

Cons

Low pay compared to top US electronics companies. Strong culture of favoritism — managers rarely promote on merit and frequently move the goalposts for employees outside their inner circle. Colleagues and managers regularly take credit for others' work. I personally witnessed and experienced what I believe to be gender and race-based inequities in how employees are treated and evaluated. HR was unresponsive when issues were raised.
