I have seen people in management bring their friends and former co-workers into job openings and have bypassed current employees who could and should have promoted into that position.

I don’t focus on negative, just room for improvement. And I worked here in 2006 or 2007. Glassdoor didn’t give me the option to go back that far for when my employment ended. Just an FYI.
