Pros

Good company for the most part. Good safety record at oil sands site. Leadership for the most part good.

Cons

Lousy way of doing cutbacks to their staff. If your position changed by a 30 % then your position was considered open to all employees in the company to apply. Employee holding the position had to apply for their own position. No interviews are conducted, no references are spoken to and past performance reviews are not applicable. One person, usually a VP makes the decision with no consultation from anywhere else. In majority of cases the employee holding the position at the time is forced out without any consideration for past performance and no input from any over seeing supervisors.

Pros

There are many diverse roles and opportunities within the company, which can make it easier to explore different career paths and avoid feeling stuck or bored.

Cons

Company lacks clear direction and has significant internal disorganization. Employees are often expected to take on multiple roles without appropriate compensation or support. Despite consistently being a high performer, I left feeling undervalued — after covering two roles, there wasn’t even a simple thank you upon departure. To make matters worse, eight months after leaving, they are now claiming I owe over $5,000 in PTO that had previously been considered settled at the time of my exit. Overall, the experience left a very negative impression and highlighted serious internal process issues.
