Pros

Easy hours, most people who are unmotivated get in at 8am and be out by 5pm with your hour lunch break. Doesn't even feel like being on a trading floor, very relaxed work culture.

Cons

Management, lot of burocracy. Relaxed work culture is also a cons as it attracts all the unmotivated and mediocre people. Those are also the same people that get promoted into management as mostly they are losers who suck up to their bosses as they know they are not real traders and won't make it outside. THe good juniors leave for other companies, the smart seniors stays for the pay and benefit. Salary increase is zero (no salary increase for 5 years and my senior got no salary increase for 20 years, be aware is not a single case, is like this for everyone as you get you inflation linked 1/2% increase YoY and that' s all). Bonuses are not great.

Pros

Early career engineers are given significant ownership and exposure to complex operational challenges. Strong focus on safety, technical development, and collaboration across disciplines. Opportunities to work on high-impact projects, interact with senior leadership, and contribute to decisions affecting major assets and infrastructure.

Cons

Workloads can be demanding, and priorities can shift quickly based on operational needs. Decision-making processes can be slow due to organizational complexity, and geographic mobility may be necessary for certain career opportunities.
