Pros

Remote working setup is very flexbile, and IWG (Regus, Spaces etc) memberships make it very easy to work remotely if home working gets chaotic or busy. Immediate team and manager are great and very supportive

Cons

Wider company making some very questionable decisions/changes when cutting costs, the staff who are affected are not consulted and essentially just told to get on with it. Cutting corners comes at the cost of productivity, higher management completely ignorant to this. Staff are primarily being recruited in countries with lower labour costs and it is blatantly obvious the reasoning behind this. Career/internal progression opportunities are minimal despite what is promised from the outset, very demoralising when the reality hits. Company used to be a fun place to work when I first joined with end of quarter events, it's lost any fun edge to it and is just another bland American corporate company that has become a revolving door for staff. New CEO is laying staff off almost immediately despite having very little knowledge of the company overall, a lot of staff old and new now feeling very uncertain about staying with the company. For the industry, pay is not great and they are not interested in doing a great deal about it.

I appreciate you taking the time to provide us with such detailed feedback. I am pleased to know that you find our flexible work model, including access to coworking locations, beneficial for maintaining your flexibility. It’s also great to know, although not surprising, that your team and manager have been positive and supportive during your time with us. Our people are the best part of Sovos. I do want to address your concerns, which I take very seriously. I understand that transitions and change can create uncertainty and that some of the recent changes and decisions made within the company have left you feeling unsettled and unsure of our culture. I feel a tremendous sense of responsibility to our employees, to create and sustain a work environment where employees can safely bring their whole selves to work. I want to assure you that the changes that we have made in the past, and the ones that we will make in the future, are not made unilaterally and only after much deliberation and thought. We owe it to our employees to make decisions that secure the future success of our organization, not just today, but for years to come. I feel confident that we are setting ourselves up to have a tremendous year, both in this FY and beyond. On the topic of in person events, we will continue to evaluate ways to bring our teams together, even when there is no longer a physical office space. Last week saw the European kick off events in person which brought many people together with positive feedback and ideas for future events – we are always open to new ideas and I would encourage you to share any of your own ideas with your manager. We are all learning to adapt to this model and it is important we all feel empowered to raise ideas which will ensure Sovos remains a fun place to work. Another opportunity to influence your local area’s events would be joining our Whole Living Committee who are always looking for new ideas for their in person, and virtual events.

Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to the team! It's wonderful to hear that your recruiting experience set such a positive tone from the start. Cassie is a great example of the kind of Sovosians we are proud to have representing our culture, and knowing she made you feel informed and at ease throughout the process genuinely matters to us. We also love hearing that your first day onboarding helped you connect with our values and get a feel for what we do. That experience is something we work hard to get right, and your feedback confirms it's landing the way we intend. We're glad you're here, and we look forward to growing together. Pros

Being Remote and standard benefits

Cons

Sales leadership is horrendous. New people are brought in not trained, aggressive targets (that have never been hit) usually designed to be the escape goats to protect the old guard. Long tenured sales protects the existing power structures. When results slip, they blame newer reps. New hires don’t hit, quotas unrealistic, weak implementation. Nightmare of a company, the worst I have ever worked at.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Feedback matters, even when we see things differently. Quota-setting and new hire ramp structures are areas we invest in seriously - they're because we want our sellers to win, not to set anyone up to fail. That's the culture we've built, and it's one I'm proud of. That said, I do hear that your experience hasn't matched that intent. If there are specific gaps in how you were onboarded or supported, I'd genuinely like to understand them so we can keep getting better. Please connect with HR or reach out to me directly. We're committed to building a team where every rep has a real shot at success! Alice Katwan, President of Revenue, Sovos
