Pros

- Good life experience - Once you get the hang of it you can make a ton of money - Simple job, talk to people and set appointments - You are in control the money you make through your own skills - Can get a lot of equity and stocks and some district managers give bonuses - Pay is $300 a close (SunRunApproval (SRA)), $500 Customer Approval, and $1600 install. - Some come for just the summer which is 6 days a week for 5 months 12 hour days. Others work year round and choose their schedule and close their own leads which is more difficult and will make less if you do not have the skills.

Cons

- Long shifts usually 11am to 9:30pm - Pay is 100% commission based - Was top 30 in the region with less than 4 closed leads a month - Difficult job - People hate door salesman - Weather (hot, cold, rainy, etc.) - Always have to keep in mind the way you look - Closers will make a ton more than you and only jump appointment to appointment but requires much more skill as all you do is set appointments and leave it in their hands. - Rejections all day, about one lead per 50 doors knocked, 1 SRA per 300 and 1 customer approval per 500, one install per 1000. Give or take depends on skill. - Pay rent becuase constant travel to new hoods (AirBNB), sometimes you drive out so gotta pay gas or carpool and wont get home till group gets picked up.

Pros

There’s a clear sense of purpose in the product, since it connects directly to lowering energy costs and cleaner power in California. When conversations go well, you can see people move from uncertainty to interest pretty quickly, which makes the work feel meaningful in short bursts. The retail environment also builds strong communication skills fast.

Cons

The pace can be repetitive, with similar objections and explanations throughout the day, and performance is closely tied to metrics. Some days feel more like managing skepticism than having new conversations, which can be draining over time.
