Pros

Duty Free Shop, if I had the time to shop there!!

Cons

Disgracefully poor training, wishy washy attitude of management, harassment of junior staff, lack of available equipment (How can you be asked to do a job, when there is no equipment to carry out the task?), actually working for an agency and not being told as much (Seriously?!?!?! What a joke!!!!!!), intimidation tactics, huge clique culture, just an awful awful awful awful awful experience. I have been in gainful employment for 14 years, never been out of work, I turned up for work here on what turned out to be my last day (No prior warning, no communication, NOTHING!!), and was told after 1 hour on site my contract was terminated and I was to be escorted from the premises! The manager, then proceeded to tell me that I was agency staff and Swissport would not support me in any grievance process, and because I was agency, they could do what they like to me without any repercussions, and that, due to the fact that I was agency, had NO RIGHTS TO UNION SUPPORT!!!!!!! OH REALLY? WATCH THIS SPACE!!!! I am now in jeopardy of losing my home. This was my first foray into aviation, and I was extremely excited by the prospect of working for a global company, I wish I had checked out the company reviews now!!They were discourteous, unprofessional, lacking in any sort of integrity, showed a complete disregard for health and safety policy, and made up all sorts of fictitious tales regarding my conduct. Please bear in mind, I was only airside for TWO, yes that's right, TWO WEEKS!!!! In short, a complete and utter diabolically shameful and poor company! STAY WELL CLEAR!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Pros

Learned a lot as an aircraft fueler, my manager at the time recognized my hard work and offered me a lead position. there was plenty of overtime and opportunities to explore different aspects of aircraft fueling. If I could I would definitely return to the company and get into management.

Cons

some employees I worked with made most of my shifts harder than they had to be. the job itself was easy and enjoyable for the time being even with call offs and no shows.

Pros

There is a sense of family culture at the airside level, and that was one of the few genuinely positive parts of the experience.

Cons

Unfortunately, the overall environment was overshadowed by micromanagement and a culture where communication often felt dishonest. There were situations where it seemed like management claimed conversations or warnings had happened when they had not, only to move quickly to write employees up. The lack of consistency and trust made the workplace frustrating and difficult to navigate. There also seemed to be high turnover, along with very little clear direction or path for growth. On top of that, some business practices came across as focused on avoiding providing proper benefits, which left a negative impression.
