Pros

This is a good job to get out of college if you already have some sales or customer service background. The training works if you practice and utilize it everyday. The lunches are paid for if you meet with technical professionals. When you hit your salary benchmark, you automatically make 50k. I have some colleagues making 6 figures who have been here about 2 years. The culture is young and there are a lot of open bar happy hours.

Cons

I work 60 hours per week and there are not many female leadership. The oldest women in leadership is almost 30 (no kids) in our department while the oldest for men is close to retirement. As a woman, you will feel that there is an expiration date on you. Also, there is no solid program for working mothers or new mothers and there are huge discrepancies between offices nationwide. You usually hear rumors of programs that other offices are trying and you might have to reach out to other offices about their program out of state. Also, you should hope that you don't get to recruit end user services because you have to hit a more higher benchmark to get your salary. In our office, it is predicted that end user services hit salary twice as long or even longer than other recruiting fields. I hit my salary in just 5 months but I wasn't in end user services. If you don't hit your salary benchmark, you'll be making $14/hour non negotiable. Imagine having to pay for college loans, housing, car, and food from a wage of $14 per hour. If you find a candidate who is not a citizen or green card, you don't get the full points filling the position. If the visa holder comes from an approved list, you will get 75% and if they are not on the list, you will be punished and get 50%. Moreover, the tuition reimbursement is terrible. You will only be supported if you get a degree in business and none other. You will also have to drive to meet technical professionals for lunch, breakfast, or dinner and that's a lot of added mileage on your car. Overall, I work from 7:15am until almost 6pm with travelling lunches every day. There is a lot of drinking as part of the culture and you'll feel ostracized if you don't drink. Also, you have to dance when you get your first start in front of everyone.

Pros

- Decent pay to start. - Account manager is responsive, engaging, and a serious advocate for you and your contract. - Gain access to Udemy Business to build more skills.

Cons

- The benefits suck. - High recruiter turnover with highly variable experience trying to work with them-- some are good, most are not. - Once you are placed, you will be promised regular meetings and then never hear from the recruiter again. - Trying to find a new contract if you are unhappy with your current placement is nearly impossible and I don't believe they are incentivized to help you move at all. - You have to manually request a raise and depending on how you negotiated your contract, you may or may not have the ability to receive one. - There is a cap to how much they will pay you for the contract so even if you work that position 4 years, once you hit that cap you are stuck. I originally submitted my resume with TekSystems when I had finished my degree and never heard back. Many years later, I was approached on LinkedIn by a TekSystems recruiter for a position and he had no idea I was in the system previously. Working with him was good, and I did get the position. Then I never heard from him again and I've had 4 or 5 different recruiters whose names I could not tell you if I tried since then. There's supposed to be monthly calls, they never happen.
