Pros

Pay was pretty good, Met some nice people, Learned some coding

Cons

Unable to find projects in Cincinnati for extended periods of time, Management seemed unorganized, doesn't seem like a good way to advance your career. I was very hesitant to take the job based on what I had read online, but they were offering more money than I was expecting to make and had been out of school for about 6 months and was desperate. I should have listened to what I saw on here. After the initial 10 week training period there were no projects in Cincinnati available, so myself and about 20 other people joined a group of about the same size that had been hired the month before us and were waiting to be put on projects. (We would be joined by another 15 people the next month also waiting for placement). Luckily my supervisor kept us working with things to do including small to medium sized projects. At one point we were all called into a meeting with upper management and HR and they essentially told us it wasn't their fault there wasn't any projects available. I almost walked out that day. Finally after 6 months people started getting placed. I was put on a project about 45 minutes from where I lived which made for a long commute, but I could deal with it because I would finally have something to do.Next I was told the project I would be on would involve IOT and I should do some research, with no real direction besides that. 2 months later I was told the project was cancelled and I would be placed on a support project. At that point I was so frustrated with both the commute and the dysfunction that TCS was showing that I left for the landscaping job I had before joining TCS that payed about 1/3 of what I was making here. I realize that is a stupid career move, but being happy for the summer was worth way more than the money I was making for dealing with the incompetence. Overall, if you can avoid it I would go with any other company. Forgot to add, at one point they asked if anyone wanted to go to work with Google, which plenty of people were interested in until we found out there wouldn't be any real cost of living raise even though they would be moving to San Francisco. They wanted people to move to the most expensive city to live in in the US without adjusting pay.

Cons

Link and understanding between top and lower management/employees needs improvement. But otherwise it’s a great place to work

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
