Pros

They will train you in a particular tech stack and pay you on a bi-weekly basis.

Cons

Considering the immense size of this company, the company suffers from a lot of disorganization at all levels. Information about the company is not relayed well to the employees, which remain "lost" for months because it is purposely hidden from them. HR is beyond terrible in this company, in levels that are hard to imagine in the United States and the west. HR will not resolve issues you have in your company, instead they will ask you to contact other people to resolve problems. There is a lot of people pointing, and not much accounting at this corporation. Just because you were trained in a particular stack, does not mean you will be working in the technology (you could be trained in Angular and web development, and end up doing Mainframe development when you are assigned to a client). This particularly becomes a problem later on, when the RMG allocates you to a business unit, and then they give you a role that you are not prepared to do, or worse yet, as it was in my experience ..end up giving you a senior role that you are not prepared to work on, or have any experience in. They will mention that you have a mentor, but in reality that person is so occupied in their own tasks that they cannot give you advice, so basically you are on your own. This causes new fresh graduates to resign soon afterwards (usually after a year) which is a tremendous waste of time for them. The reality is that in this company, employees exist so that the services firm can bill the client at a high hourly rate, but you only see a fraction of that in your salary. To new software engineering graduates my recommendation is to consider product based companies instead of consulting companies. There is no growth or career prospects for you in these types of companies. Avoid them at all costs.

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
