- Bullying, higher level staff can say whatever they like to whomever they like. But they're mates with the right people and you're expendable.
- Unreasonable workloads and a complete disregard for code quality. You'll have a ton of poorly written code a decade old that then gets you called up in the middle of the night.
- Pay raises don't even keep up with inflation.
- Frequent, mindless reorgs. Get used to learning a completely new domain every year with a new team and a new manager. Don't like it? Tough.
- On call rota is incredibly badly paid for what they are asking (say goodbye to your life for a week every month).
- Greenwashing, c-suite pay lip-service to it but that's all it is.
- Spineless yes men for managers that will agree to anything regardless of how realistic it is or what agreeing will do to their staff.
- You don't get to travel to the other offices any more, regardless of what the recruiters will tell you.
