Pros

The benefits are great, the campus is beautiful. It's a pretigious company so it will look good on the resume.

Cons

Vanguard uses an antiquated DOS computer system (if you can believe that) for the management of client accounts which creates all kinds of complexities and problems for staff including errors. The salaries are very low - especially considering the work involved. The workload is crushing and most of the people that I work with have to work through their lunches just to keep from falling behind. Overtime is discouraged, yet staff are expected to keep up with production quotas that are excessive (hence people having to work through their lunches).

Pros

Awesome coworkers for young professionals. Paid licensing for a few months.

Cons

Micromanagement is out of control. Incompetent team leaders who are obsessed with power and metrics. Back to back calls, limited support, and nearly impossible effective communication between departments. Zero time to cultivate culture because you are taking calls every second of the day except for 30min/1hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks. You’re locked into your role for over a year (apprenticeship for around 60 days, then a year after promotion to associate) and your team leaders will not approve internal applications unless you are “eligible”.
