Pros

The biggest pro in my opinion is the massive amount of career opportunities at Visa. Most of the management at the company support upward and/or lateral job mobility. There are internal programs that promote this as well. Many employees have been there for 10, 15, 20+ years, which says a lot.. there is a reason people stay and retire from Visa. The benefits are great and depending on the team, there is quite a bit of work flexibility, including wellness hours in the Summer.

Cons

The biggest con in my opinion is the lack of innovation around processes. Visa is a massive company with a lot of revenue but they struggle with investing in newer programs to make processes easier on employees. They typically hire from within because it’s too hard to train people from the outside. For a technology company, Visa sometimes lacks utilizing innovative technology to streamline simple and complex processes. The culture can be good depending on the team but with a big company, there are some great people and not so great people. As many opportunities as there are within the company, good careers paths can be a bit unclear. It can be easy to feel stuck in your role, without knowing where to go next within the company.

Pros

Great co-workers, some leaders with integrity from Al Kelly time, great benefits, 401k, what used to be great WLB.

Cons

-Incompetent CTO and leadership, specially at the Sr Dr/ VP level, moved from Msft in troves. -No focus on product/features delivery using AI, rather useless AI tools to track productivity (LOC and other laughable outdated metrics). -All Optics, no innovation, decades behind Fintechs like Stripe in innovation. -Extreme toxic culture and politics at leadership level.
