Pros
Your level of involvement in the company is dictated by your performance and your willingness to work which can be both very rewarding and quite stressful. Despite the declining benefits packages in recent years they still have amazing benefits and still deserve the coveted title of 'golden handcuffs'.
Cons
There is a trend towards outsourcing and moving jobs off shore at an alarming rate. While this is primarily focused at technology centric jobs most jobs at Visa are technology based and as such assume this risk. The many internal groups within the company can be likened to warlords competing for empire growth. Management has created far to many silo's than should exist for a 2000-3000 person company. I believe this stems from many generations of management coming from the public sector and 25,000+ private sector companies where they have had process and bureaucracy replace innovation.
