Upper management will spend weeks or months "planning" without input from the teams below them, and then unilaterally make decisions. This results in situations where the rest of the company either drowns in work, or scrambles to accomplish the task suddenly set before them, or is left completely demoralized after being in the dark for so long.
Backfills for existing positions are nonexistent despite hiring in other areas, meaning that they leave people to drown in the existing work.
Our team could easily be working 60 hours a week and still not accomplish all the work they expected of us. Recently they have said that will do their best to get work off of our plate, but they have no real plan for how that happens.
Senior management will talk at length about how excited they are for everyone to get back into the office, so that they can drink with everyone and work after hours, or how real collaboration takes place in an office, which is demoralizing when you are permanently remote (and were since before the pandemic).
