Dragging a "once great place to work" down - Private Banker (Formerly Wachovia) Wells Fargo Employee Review

Pros

Lower level managers are promoted through the ranks and understand the position they're supervising. Benefits package is OK. Variety of hours and shifts available through phone bank.

Cons

Monthly and quarterly goals are very close to unreachable considering the other duties not tied to primary job requirements... i.e. tracking, paperwork and meetings that keep you from actually talking to customer. Computer systems are terrible and require need to access 15-20 programs while helping each customer. Wachovia WAS a great employer and the things that drew employees are quickly being whittled away. Many longtime employees are disillusioned with the downgrades in the company and are leaving in droves.. despite a tough job market.

Pros

Benefits (but cost creeping up and coverage creeping down each year), Good Morale Both Management and Coworkers, and Honestly a Great Company.

Cons

Cross Selling is the only focus now, firing employees who are great at their job in every area that should matter but if the cross selling results are not meeting the ever ridiculous quota (which continues to rise) than you may not have a job next month. Expectation for customers to say yes to cross selling, leaving you with no real control of your job security. Stress!
