Pros

Good company perks Decent socials and Xmas party Clean office environment

Cons

Strong hierarchy in teams that is very established and hard to progress within. A lot of favouritism by seniors & management of their friends. Very Cliquey culture. Gatekeeper culture. Hard work doesn’t get you up in this company, I was told multiple times that people need to ‘know who you are’ across multiple departments even if it’s not relevant to your role. Expect to be on whatever salary you start on for the next 3 years with minimal increase 1-2%. Max increase for a promotion is 10% - (if you miraculously get one, which I didn’t despite my workload being somewhat comparable to people in my team that were 4 years my senior within the team) I was also promised some sort of progression at every 1-1 bi annual catch up that was never fulfilled. Typical corporate carrot chasing. A new Junior will find it very hard to progress/promote to making anything above £40k. Seems like a benchmark they want to keep most of their junior/associates/young people below. Will literally take 5 years or so of work at Zayo on top of your previous experience to even get the chance. Zayo is one of those places that really recognises sociable people that go to all the socials etc. so if you are introverted/someone they don’t take to, prepare yourself to be very easily overlooked by senior leaders and management in general. Not enough diversity at senior level which is discouraging.
