Hey, First, I am always working on my delivery - sometimes I’m making the right point, but I’m not doing it in the way it lands best. I do believe in RTO, and we’ve had an RTO policy since the beginning of the year, while it has been mandatory since then, I’ve tried to give everyone time to adjust to a new normal. We have come to the point where I believe the benefits of the RTO policy outweigh additional time for adjustment. I want to be as transparent as I can be when I address the company, so while I didn’t mean to mock or be smug about it, I did want to be honest.
Of course I also personally bear the responsibility for the company’s performance - I set the strategy, I hire the team to execute, I hold them accountable. If the business is not doing what we expected it to do, that’s my fault. At the same time, I want to make sure everyone knows the areas we should be focused on - that invariably means we have to review areas where we didn’t show up as well as we could have - it’s like watching game tape in sports - we don’t just watch a highlight reel, we focus on the areas we could have improved. When I do that - I’m not passing blame or responsibility, I’m making sure we are aligned on areas we can improve on and letting everyone at the company know I’m working on improving those areas. But again, on delivery, I’ll continue to work on it.
