Epitome of a pizza party corporate culture

Pros

Snacks, central location, cool colleagues, discounts on products

Cons

Very cliquey. If you're not in, it's obvious and it wouldn't be so bad if the leadership team didn't actively prescribe to it. The people team lack experience, which makes sense when a lot of the most senior members of leadership started in very junior roles and leapt into senior leadership roles in 5 years then they actively pulled the ladder up behind them. People team also made a habit of getting reviews about the company culture deleted (my colleagues and I tracked it). Leadership is out of touch. There's a trigger happy firing culture where everyone not on the senior leadership team are replaceable. They had a Netflix mindset without the budget. Morale was absolutely in the pits by the time I left.

Pros

Culture: - People and Culture team champions employees, fostering a supportive work environment. - Fun office events contribute to a positive and enjoyable workplace atmosphere. - Excellent work-life balance, with minimal intrusion outside of work hours. Leaders: - Personable and approachable CEO/president fosters a sense of accessibility and transparency. - Great leadership at all levels, making it comfortable to approach management with any issues. - Hands-off management style empowers employees, allowing for autonomy and independence. Work: - Cross-collaboration enhances relationships with coworkers and promotes teamwork. - Fast-paced environment keeps work dynamic and exciting. - Opportunity for growth and development through exposure to internal and external demands.

Cons

These are not cons for myself but might be for some: - Fast-paced environment may be challenging for some to keep up with. - Lack of micromanagement requires strong time management skills, which may be overwhelming for some. Something I would want to be improved: - Absence of yearly performance reviews necessitates employees to take initiative in discussing their progress and development.

Pros

Snacks Toilet breaks Nice employee discounts on poorly made products

Cons

- Polarizing management: either extreme favoritism or endless bullying of employees. Coincidentally, the bullying is worse on POCs. The entire leadership team has 0 diversity. Go figure. - There are no streamlined processes or structures in place. They operate like a failed startup (they are). - Leadership is extremely junior in experience, lots of nepotism. - Overall, this is where you go for career suicide. This is a failing brand that's salvaging on its last pennies. Only people with no career momentum would get an ego trip about their big title here.

A Company That Could Have Been Great—But Isn’t

Pros

- Incredibly supportive and talented teams and co-workers - Nice office space - Fun events and team socials

Cons

This company really had the potential to be something truly great but unfortunately inexperienced and under-qualified leaders continue to push employees to their breaking points. Leadership is constantly losing top talent due to lack of company vision, shady office politics and constant pivoting on priorities. Favouritism is also rampant and there is a serious clique problem which contribute to their high turnover rate. There is also no transparency from leadership which leads to intense office gossip about the future of the company. Employees are frequently expected to take on responsibilities beyond their roles and work overtime (often unpaid) to meet unrealistic deadlines. Instead of fostering a supportive work environment, leadership always prioritizes short-term gains at the expense of employee well-being.
