In my experience, they prefer to put people on a time management course or PIP them out of the company as there are lots of writers ready to replace you. Strangely, people in medical writing are usually ex-academics willing to work outrageous hours for no compensation, which is probably why private equity firms keep buying out these agencies. If you value work-life balance, this might not be it.
