Pros

Great tools, smart people, free snacks.

Cons

Lacks vision, as many had mentioned. Brought in leadership from outside companies, companies which are also failing. I don't think this company ever fully recovered from the previous owners. A lot of things were lost including employees and the knowledge they had. New hires can check the employee bios to see how recent people are. Lots of people here do whatever they want instead of following guidelines which make their work all the more difficult for someone else to take over or manage. Former employees did the same and now people have to run around for days just to manage it. A lot of heat coming from the top which trickles down on all levels. Favoritism was also very apparent. If you weren't the favorite it was practically verbal abuse, and no amount of sound proofing in the meeting rooms could hide how displeased everyone was. Management has huge egos which do not allow them to ever be wrong, often turned into a he said/she said thing. Took less than a few months for me to realize that I need to get away from this place. As people say I'm not quitting my job, I'm quitting my manager.

Where to start...another day of reckoning yesterday...3 major layoffs in 4 months. Leadership is absolutely delusional. Not one person who is VP or above should have a job at this company! Shameful liars who only look out for their own well being and could care less about their people! Communication to employees is never straight forward! A tangled web of lies lies lies!!! I can't even tell you how many lies I have been told over the last couple of years...what is the truth??? DO NOT accept any job at this company...not even a volunteer position!!!

CEO doubles as VP of Sales and does neither well

Pros

Mankato resources are excellent. Have a handful of medium sized legacy Firepond customers which provide revenue. This helps to offset the lack of new business in the last 5 years, and keeps company from folding.

Cons

CEO Dave Batt is toxic and unethical, and is not above lying about product capabilities and resources to close the deal. Although they close very few deals. Company is not financially stable. Went bankrupt or close to bankruptcy in 2009 and has never fully recovered. Resources stretched very thin. Little direction and scarce leads provided to Sales team. CEO tries to micromanage every part of the company and all deals. Sales atmosphere is one of frustration and anxiety.
