Pros

- Been thinking for the past 10 minutes.... sorry no pros!

Cons

- Constantly feeling scared to speak to the management because they all get together to make employee's life difficult, they love gossiping! - Management don't have answers and expect employees to solve issues with very little to no information at all - One evening I received 20-30 emails from the same person (management) which was later becoming a regular. I was expected to respond to the emails straight away and failure to do so would result in having a 'chat'. I couldn't switch off and was having sleepless nights. - Receiving calls from management out of office hours. If not available then she/he will Whatsapp which was also being regular- Stop micro-managing your employees! - During my time at Upfield literally every week some one was getting fired- high turnover. - Poor office temperature- most of us wore our coats/jackets - CEO does not care about his employees! His town hall meetings were always about making profits, money, money, money, money, not about employee wellbeing- strongly disappprove the CEO - HR is a complete shambles! UK HR in particular is a complete disaster. No one knows anything! I was mentally affected working at this company and feel paranoid whether I will be treated the same way in future company. I could not switch off and constantly felt stress to the point I had sleepless nights. I was coming home super late and then having to switch on after. I was also doing A LOT of tasks which were not listed in my job description- it was taking up 90% of my time everyday. I was just expected to figure it out myself. When requesting for help I was shutdown! I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone in a billion years! An absolute disgrace!

Pros

Free tea and coffee, that's literally it!

Cons

Poor staff management- none to unstructured 1-2-1s. Like managers treating their staff like their PAs. Line managers will do everything in their power to make employee's life difficult and therefore forcing them to quit. Employee confidentiality does not exist in this company. Extremely poor work life balance. Manager have mentioned that this job involves working out of hours without overtime pay. Poor office working temperature CEO only cares about profits and not staff wellbeing!

Pros

If you have a good team and a good manager then you will do well here and it will make things more bearable.

Cons

The CEO is intimidating and threatening. The way he speaks to people is not acceptable and doesn't make for a safe nor enjoyable place to work. I quote - "Covid isn't around any more. The younger generation don't want to come into an office, well that won't be at Upfield" and "you must come into the office for at least 3 days a week if you want to keep your job." Countries have been merged together to form larger clusters which don't make sense as the markets are not the same. Numerous people have been made redundant with those remaining having to pick up the slack when already over worked. Price rises on Upfield products are going through in the retailers, but no inflationary support is given to employees.
