Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

It's been an exciting two-year journey

    Pros

One of the aspects that makes FPP different from other places I have worked so far
is the Company’s culture. A relaxed and productive atmosphere, providing a lot of flexibility in terms of working hours and remote working - even before the COVID 19 outbreak. Knowledge-sharing is always encouraged, by a mix of internal technical seminars and daily discussions, creating an ideal environment for innovation, and personal growth.

    Cons

It has been fascinating working at a company that has seen such a rapid growth over the recent years. However, this may come with occasional changes in the priorities and organisation of certain teams, which of course can be expected at the current stage.

    Pros

Lot's of opportunity for personal development, and the People Team are always keen to provide activities and options to support hybrid working.

    Cons

An improved intranet would help to understand which staff are in which teams.

    Great atmosphere

    Pros

The line managers are excellent. They push you towards new challenges and towards learning new skills. There is flexible working both in terms of office time (flexible hours, working from home etc.). A good atmosphere has been cultivated in both the Bristol and Cambridge offices.

    Cons

There is a disconnect between the two offices.

    Positive and creative environment

Mar 5, 2020 - Graduate Sensor Fusion Engineer in Cambridge, England

    Business Outlook

    Pros

A friendly environment, where knowledge sharing is highly encouraged, creating the ideal conditions for personal growth and development. In addition to the competitive salary, many other benefits are provided, such as 25 days of annual leave, free company lunches, and flexible working hours.

    Cons

As with every growing organisation in its early stages, there is currently a low number of employees. However, the company is now hiring, so this is going to change in the near future.
