Pros

- It can be flexible IF you have a supervisor that is willing to cooperate with you and is good natured enough to do so. -You are paid weekly. -3 weeks vacation beginning after 5 years. - Good benefits package (Might change soon).

Cons

-It's literally 12 jobs for the price of 0.5. You will likely be a Cashier, a Parking Lot Attendant, a Janitor, a Stockclerk, a Department Assistant, a Front End Supervisor, a Gas Station Attendant, a Utility Clerk, a Clerk, a Customer Service Manager and a Night Crew Stockclerk/Warehouse Clerk all for slightly above minimum wage, AND as a Utility Clerk/Customer 1st Clerk. It is clear that they are trying to save money by not promoting people, and teaching entry level workers how to do the dangerous work so that they keep expenses down. -If you're maxed out, the only way you will get a raise is if the cost of living wage increases or if you get promoted and that in itself isn't always guaranteed. You may just get fired to keep costs down, and it'll be for the lamest lame-duck excuse they can find. -Forget work/life balance. You will hardly ever see your family, and around the peak seasons they own your soul. -There are times where you will likely go hours without coming inside during the extreme weather conditions, or to even get a break. There are even times where they will "forget" to give out such break. Imagine waiting 6.5 hours before you get your first one and almost time to go home before you get your lunch. Forget ever getting that final break, it doesn't exist and bringing up "Department of Labor" information will be considered a threat. -Employees are condemned and criticized more than they are encouraged and motivated. It's easier to tear down at Food 4 Less than it is to build up. -They have very unrealistic goals and objectives. If the store is flooded with customers, there is no way to push six carts at a time and meet demand, especially if the store is understaffed as it almost always is. And if you operate a million dollar inventory store, one can only whip a horse so many times before it gives up. So chances are good that you will find yourself doing a lot of different tasks and be still taken for granted as "it's not good enough". -They will discipline you for the most juvenile of offenses. If corporate feels that the store is not up to expectations, you will get chewed out. If you are an entry level position, you are very much expendable. Write up's and Suspensions are given very frequently, and turn over is high. -Management is an old boys/girls club and are willing to back each other up and cover up for each other, even when they do things that might be wrong. If you have 2 of them saying you did something, of course the whole defense is one sided. Sometimes, when corporate bites into them, they will take it out on the employees. And they will make you feel lower than dirt and possibly suspend you for stuff like 'Not putting carts in fast enough". People have come out of the office in tears, and refused to want to return to their job. -Team work is encouraged on paper, but not when it comes to enacting it in reality. There is a lot of 'my way or the highway'-type of leadership here, that reflects poorly on getting a job done. This is especially apparent when it comes to the front end. And when corporate comes in, everyone puts on an act. -You can almost go bankrupt in a year if you are entry level and are limited to part time hours. This is not even on par to being a high school job. -You will work yourself to death for at best $9.20 an hour. And they can do whatever they want, ESPECIALLY if your division is not Unionized. But most often, at $8 an hour with 24 hours, it's not sustainable. -They will literally keep you from advancement if they feel that you are very useful to them where you're at now. There are members here, who have worked entry level positions without advancement for years. And despite all assessments completed, and working with the supervisor's to help out, if it's not good for the store, it's not going to happen. -Plenty of micro-managing.

Pros

Payday is every Friday and checks can be cashed inside the store or any other food 4 less without any extra fees.

Cons

Union taxes your paycheck weekly and the union never helps. Last time I had a problem I called the union and they told the store director that I made a complain and I got in trouble.
