Pros

I have nothing nice to say about this place, except maybe, they provide free bottles of water, Vitamin Water and sometimes Topo Chico.

Cons

Homophobic, Hypocrites, with Culty-Vibes, that basically sums this place up. You are required to attend "Religious Lunch and Learns" and then not allowed to leave the building for lunch, and they think that buying you lunch makes it an even trade. They have "Leaders of the Community" (lol) speak about HIGHLY offensive and inappropriate topics based on their beliefs. However in the welcome packet, they are "welcoming to all individuals", except it should say "Welcoming to all individuals who vote republican, and are NOT apart of the LGBTQ community". I have never worked for such an intolerant company in my entire life. Employees "praise" the CEO as if he is God or Santa Clause. They will try and make you think they are a wonderful work place, with wonderful people and a great outlook except when you actually get in the workplace 85% of the people are rude, talk about each other constantly, or are sleeping with each other. BUT you get FREE water, Vitamin Water and Topo Chico, as well as a onsite gym. I could go on and on but honestly I'd probably pay for an a billboard in this town that says DO NOT APPLY to FDLIC. You probably won't see this review after a few days when they are able to review and pay to have it removed!

Pros

On-site gym and clinic. Free snacks and coffee. Free medical insurance. People are nice, if you fit their mold.

Cons

Nepotism - Don't expect to earn a management position unless you're related to executive management. They have a special "Leadership Development Academy" to give jobs to the executives' kids. The CEO makes up unnecessary job positions for his old college buddies and lets them harass women in the workplace. Anti LGBTQ -Executive leadership has specifically stated that transgender people shouldn't work at this company. Those in non-hetero relationships are not open about them, probably for a reason. Non-inclusive - The CEO's pastor is a recurring speaker at mandatory work events and in company media to recruit for his church. Have had a politician of only one specific political party visit the office to campaign. Low PTO - PTO doesn't roll over. You get 1 week (5 days) of vacation your first year. Cult-like Culture - A lot of things are done "because the CEO said so." Dress code - Inconsistent dress code. Casual most of the time, but will often get less than 24hr notice that business professional is required the next day.

Thank you for taking time to share your review. We are disappointed that this has been your employee experience at FDLIC. Every day we strive to maintain a culture of love and respect for all employees where feedback and opinions, both negative and positive are sought after and valued. We strive to be an open and inclusive workplace. Year end and year out we have been recognized nationally, by Great Place to Work® which is the national global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and leadership behaviors. To acquire certification, our employees completed an anonymous survey in which they rank the workplace culture, leadership, benefits, and other factors within the company. In addition, our workplace continues to receive state recognition annually as one of the “Best Companies® to Work for in Texas,” which is driven in large part by anonymous employee surveys, as well! And finally, in 2022 our company received the inaugural “Best Workplace in the Big Country,” by the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. We strongly encourage all current and former employees who believe they have been subjected to inappropriate behavior, conduct, or harassment in the workplace to please contact our Director of Employee Relations, Sonia DeLeon, and report that conduct so that we may address it properly.
