Pros

Adequate health insurance Lots of company events that usually center around the use of alcohol, a big part of the company culture.

Cons

A culture of favoritism -if you're not liked by a select few, your out. when i was hired i was told to give my overall view of their process and give suggestions for improvement. I came in the door with over 20 years of experience. They really didn't want to hear my suggestions for improvement after i was hired. A company big on committee meetings, meetings for the select few to bad mouth upper management and their employees, and course anyone not in the room........ the blame game played daily. no one takes responsibilty for their own actions.

We appreciate your feedback and want to let you know that we hear it and are taking action steps. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the company picnic that we had at the winery the past few years and our annual holiday celebration. Although we offer limited alcohol options, we are happy to offer many other selections for other preferences. We are sorry that you did not feel that your suggestions and opinions are heard. We discussed this concern with the leadership team and are currently considering other platforms to hear employee feedback.

Pros

A very family oriented company focused on employee engagement, community and overall well being. I didn't think I could find a company so close to my personal values, but Booksource (divison of GL Group) is awesome. Supportive, encouraging and open to change. The company provides great benefits and looks to add a WOW benefit every year based on employee feedback.

Cons

There are no cons to provide and hopefully there won't be.

Thank you for acknowledging our great benefit package and our employee engagement activities and initiatives. The feedback referring to pay and turnover were passed on to our executive team. GL group’s compensation program is designed to attract, motivate, and retain talented employees who drive the company’s success and uphold the company’s core values. In recognition of the necessity for top-tier talent, we strive to provide base salary that meets/exceeds the market when employees are fully proficient in their role and meeting expectations. In alignment with our company culture, we will strive to communicate openly about design of the compensation program. The compensation process is intended to be fair and simple so that all employees and managers understand the goals and the outcomes of the process. We have started training on our compensation philosophy so leaders and employees can feel confident in discussing this topic. We have made a commitment to be more transparent as an organization to eliminate fear and questions that arise with terminations or layoffs. We don't want anyone to feel that they we terminate without warning. Employees may not be privy to the details that go into terminations or layoffs, but we are actively working to explain more of the why behind decisions to easy worry. Thank you for the feedback. We heard it and are actively working to improve.
