Not the Best Place for Creatives

Pros

My teammates Free Snacks Clean office Benefits Dog friendly

Cons

-Racism and Bigotry are accepted parts of the work environment. Not the best environment for most minorities. Despite my official complaints, ownership promised action and did nothing. - Work flow is centered around taking orders from uninformed superiors, with a "service industry" attitude instead of meaningful collaboration. Art is valued in quantity as opposed to quality. Quotas to appease ownership mean more than a job well done. -What little company culture remains is broken and instead of fixing it, ownership witch hunts "social cancers" amongst employees, creating a culture of fear and uncertainty. -For all reasons mentioned above, and more, the stress is INTENSE at Garb.

Pros

Decent salary, some of the people that work there are really great and want to push the company in the right direction.

Cons

Management is suffocating, everything is personal and not about the actual work that is completed. Some of the employees are incredibly backstabbing and it's hard to tell who you can actually trust. You will sit in four hour meetings with the owner who will just brag about his money and not talk about the job you are actually trying to get done, then he will get mad at you when you couldn't read his mind. Even if you get your work done, if you aren't there past 5 and like to take a lunch break you pretty much aren't doing your job in the eyes of the CEO.

Pros

Company has great potential and sells some cool product.

Cons

Family run business comes with its challenges. Everything is personal and leadership is hypocritical. They say they want change and yet nothing changes. CEO spends hours on end in meeting discussing how great he is and not focusing on actual business needs. There is absolutely zero trust in employees. Accountability is applicable to everyone buy leadership.
