Pros

I’ve had a positive experience working here as a Technical Program Manager. There is a strong level of trust in how people work and I’ve appreciated the lack of micromanagement. Managers are supportive, colleagues are collaborative and there is a genuine willingness to help each other succeed. The business also offers great technology, strong benefits and flexible working hours, which makes a real difference day to day. It creates an environment where you can focus on delivering good work while still having some balance. Overall, it’s a strong place to work, especially for someone who values autonomy, supportive teams and flexibility.

Cons

One challenge is the level of time tracking. Logging time in a way that feels similar to consulting can take some getting used to and managing it well is a skill in itself.

Pros

1. Fun people who work hard 2. There's potential here with the niche that they work in and the problems that they are solving for.

Cons

Feedback isn't taken seriously. There were countless times when I expressed that a majority of the projects I was on was towards the end of the billing cycle, and that there weren't enough hours to go on for everyone. The compensation is probably in the bottom 10% for folks in RevOps. They don't believe in giving equity or people a chance at sharing in the company's success. It's impossible to take PTO and PTO is looked down-upon especially if you want to plan a longer trip. The problems that GN solves across companies are very similar, if there was a process to look back at deliverables for other clients, we could save a lot of time. A lot of the management here has only been managers here and as a result there's a lot of people who will toot their own horn. There's a couple good cookies at the top, but their voice is tuned out by the louder ones. I believe in the mission here, but I do think that the way they go about it isn't the best. You are encouraged to bill wildly and try to exert money out of the companies we work with. When you do and the company asks questions, the management will leave the employee out to dry.

Pros

Working on interesting, challenging problems. Wonderful, well intentioned people. Work-life balance is manageable if you aren't having to support other people (although this is changing). Office culture is great. Remote work possibilities. Lots of flexibility. Working with interesting, fast-growing clients.

Cons

Lack of any management structure makes a lot of basic functions difficult, such as getting support, accountability for low performers, or any real expectations on successful job performance. We're all managing each other on top of our full time jobs and making it up as we go along. It's gets harder the more we grow. The promise of everyone being a generalist is exciting, but it means our work can often be subpar. We don't get the training to be able to execute on that vision. Lack of process and quality standards makes it difficult to learn how to do things the right way. It's very difficult to propose and operationalize org-wide process.
