Pros

-Discount -Colleagues/people -Benefits -nice office

Cons

I’ve worked for several major brands in Canada and this is by far the worst. Management plays favorites and you are only promoted/given raises if they like you. It’s all about perception there and if you don’t play the game you get bullied. I complained to upper management about my boss bullying me several times and nothing changed. I can honestly say I would not recommend this work environment to my worst enemy. Fashion is a hectic industry. Things change all the time and you have to be adaptable but at Groupe dynamite it is at another level. The CEO is sexist, condescending, and rude and he has surrounded himself with people who tell him “yes,” meaning that low level employees have to work in insane ways to meet his demands. I have also never worked at a place where taking extended mental health leave is as normal as taking your lunch hour. This review will sound like a disgruntled ex employee but this place took my self esteem and mental health to all time lows. If you want to find a place you can grow and be happy at this is not the place for you.

Pros

-Nice head office space - Great cafeteria -Good benefits - Dog friendly - Fun corporate events - Friendly employees

Cons

- The structure of the company changes constantly. - Upper management fast turn over which results in constant re-structures. -The position and roles of the employees change without the input of the employees affected. -Extremely hard to grow (position and salary) -Not french friendly as all management is from the USA and all communications and meetings are 100% in English -Poor work-life balance. Long hours sometimes even weekends. -Fast turnover which results in understaffed teams

Pros

Hybrid work Location Nice office ‘Unlimited’ vacations

Cons

I reported to 3 different VP’s in less than 3 years of my time there, all because they either quit or were fired. This should have been a red flag, but I love the work I do so I stayed. Upper management team talks a big game, and say they want to be a ‘brand’ but do absolutely nothing to achieve this, all while demanding more and more from already overstressed and overtaxed employees. Middle management turnover causes huge amounts of anxiety and leads to poor performance all around. When everything is a 911 priority, nothing is a priority. HR tries its best but is like bailing out the Titanic with a spoon. When the final VP I worked for started, his hubris was so front and center he immediately began making wholesale changes before learning the corporate structure. He knew nothing about marketing and relied completely on a consultant friend of his to make decisions. This left the (extremely small) marketing team feeling untrusted, unworthy and sidelined.
