The manager has no technical background and no proper education to support the business need.

Pros

Small company in growth mode. Lots of opportunities to learn and make an impact

Cons

They are still figuring out professional development. No standardization in title or salary promotions. Managers and HR cannot explain next steps for one's career

Pros

I interned as a Quantitative Analyst in the Total Portfolio Group. I was given the chance to work on high-impact tasks and learned a lot from my manager and other team members, who were super friendly and willing to help. Amazing culture (no politics on our team, everyone is treated equally) and great learning opportunities especially as an intern.

Cons

Not sure how other teams work as they seem pretty independent, but TPG was great.

Pros

Good pay, good bonus structure. The people are great individuals but we are all working under the same stresses

Cons

IT is disorganized, trying to adopt Agile but failing from a people process more than anything. The Transpfrmation has caused many rifts, teams divided against each other, inconsistent application of Agile by management and others still left behind in the command and control world. Pushing most management functions off to the teams under the guise of Agile, without discussions or acceptance on the receiving end.

Complete madness

Pros

Good salary, benefits and pension. Good work life balance and fitnes allowance. Feels good to take care of healthcare workers.

Cons

Worst behaving employees get promoted to management. They only care about climbing the corporate ladder and not about the work that needs to be done. Honest, hard working people that have the company's best interest in mind get screwed over. Elaborate stories spun to get good employees fired. Nobody is paying attention what middle and upper managers are really doing.

Pros

- DB pension - health and wellness benefits

Cons

- Micro managers - management hires externally before even considering internal hires - little to no WLB, especially in Plan Ops - managers requesting for overtime daily - overwhelming amount of work and not enough sufficiently trained staff since they keep hiring externally (poor training virtually) - poor software system - enhancements and improvements are always supplemented with work arounds which make work more time consuming and often cause more work than help - managers focused on numbers and SLAs and thus burning out staff - high turnovers and lots of health leaves - low base salaries not at market value even with bonuses
