Pros

Working at a coffee shop is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment. If you enjoy making connections, working with your hands, and tackling challenges on the fly, it’s a rewarding experience. Just be prepared for the occasional coffee spill, caffeine jitters, and early morning shifts.

Cons

The job requires serious multitasking—handling a long line, steaming milk to the right texture, and keeping up with mobile orders all at once. Peak hours can feel like an intense workout, and the occasional difficult customer can test your patience.

Pros

Ownership are former hedge fund guys. They really understand their business and they don't miss much. Learned a lot working with them.

Cons

They employ a lot of gen Z kids who don't realize how highly they are paid to work in a service industry job. The entry level you get close to 40K with your tips.

Pros

The owners have high expectations of their business and reasonable expectations of their staff. Yes, the craft and the customers are going to come first, as this is a service industry job. But enjoying what you're doing is made possible by having truly respectable employers and staff.

Cons

There aren't many. As the only draw back to working as a barista is that it isn't a high paying salary. But Hansa does offer competitive wages that reflect performance.
