Pros

makes you really question the tangiable difference that ridiculous companies like this have - 'you are progressing research'? If you were you'd actually bring in academics and not charge a premium for a glorified networking event. Linkedin is free - whats really the point.

Cons

'throw enough different conferences at a wall and one will stick' mentality. exploit graduates by rinsing and repeating a high volume of staff. the turnover is high and this is entirely reflective on the company culture and it's model. It essentially uses graduates to pedal likely to fail products while leaving luck of the draw to those that succeed. Your productivity or input will not determine your success or commission - yet they love to say they are a meritocracy.

Pros

-The travel can be very fun -for someone who isn't fsmiliar with the corporate world it gave me a much better understanding of everything and set me up with lots of transferable skills -I was managed by some kind people

Cons

-Starting salaries are low relative to both the workload and level of responsibility expected. I earnt more money stocking the shelves at Lidl. Overtime is heavily normalised. -Employee turnover is high. The environment favours people who are exceptionally organised and can operate under sustained pressure for long periods doing repetitive work -Management styles can be highly micromanaged. For graduates entering their first professional role, it can lead to unhealthy working habits becoming normalised, because of lack of experience in other work environments. -The culture can feel quite insular, with many senior managers having spent all of their careers at Hanson Wade. -People are often feeling unheard or unable to influence outcomes even if they speak up.
