Pros

Good Training, free fruit, good office location

Cons

Everything else. Hat ham make you feel like they own all of your time for the absolute joke of a salary they pay. You cannot leave a minute early for either lunch or at the end of the day. I have known colleagues that were expected to go to events for a weekend to represent the company and didn't get a day off or the time paid which was outrageous. They constantly send out stats to everyone to humiliate whoever is the lowest and bark at you for talking to colleagues saying you can only chat outside of working hours. I once was belittled for not coming back from lunch at 13:29 instead of 13:30. I was pulled up on coming back punctually instead of 30 seconds Early and this behaviour is encouraged by management. Also they don't pay outstanding commission when people leave. I lost around 3k which if you are on their abysmal base salary is a lot. Internal communications are almost cult like with the constant talk of how great harnham is. If you're thinking of joining do yourself a favour and listen to all the negative reviews here. Run.

Pros

Average social side, lots of young and like minded individuals, regular socials, a definiteive drinking culture, free fruit, one very clean male toilet for the whole office.

Cons

The management team are unrealistic. 12 hour days, ridiculous "targets", key accounts are handed to the boys club, the company is ran by a team of favourites, if you don't identify with them, you'll not progress. The office is in zone 3, don't believe the lies on the website about it being close to London "the place for all the best graduate jobs etc." , Wimbledon is a leafy suburb, and this is not a job worthy of a graduate. You'll be shown through "training", where they will essentially "teach" you how to cold call 500 (give or take) people per week. A well trained space monkey could manage this. Don't believe the lies about data and analytics, harnham, the ludicrous salary expectations, many people you call have never heard of Harnham. As if it's not bad enough hearing your own voice recorded, managers will play back your calls and laugh at you, make out that you are stupid for not knowing the ins and outs of analytics, if you did, then you'd be a data scientist, not an irritating cold caller. Coercing people to take a job through a barrage of emails and phone calls is not a way to make a living. Make sure you know what recruitment is before you fall into this trap. You'll be earning 20k and desperately looking for a way out. But hey, at least you're in London!

Harnham Response

Many thanks for leaving a review and firstly, apologies that things didn’t work out for you at Harnham. We’ve always put a high emphasis on training & are really proud that a lot of the leaders of our business were grown organically. We try to cover a variety of training methods within our graduate programme as we are aware that everyone learns differently, so we’re sorry that you didn’t enjoy some of them. ‘Key accounts’ are looked after by a designated team. Roles are passed to relevant teams in the business but consultants are not ‘handed’ accounts if they haven’t done the work to deserve them. If you would like to expand on this point (or any of your other feedback), please do get in touch. Wimbledon is indeed a leafy suburb, but I’m not sure how this makes it a job not worthy of graduates? Thanks again for your review & good luck with your next role.

Pros

-Most of the managers and AD's are friendly -Company is growing

Cons

-The majority of the positive reviews are clearly written by Harnham and are untrue and do not provide an accurate reflection into the company -Although managers and AD's are friendly a toxic culture can still be seen within the company. Everyone stands up at the exact same time for lunch and you looked at if you stand up a minute early. If you try and leave at 17:30 (the time your contract says you are meant to finish) you get spoken to and again receive dirty looks -The fact that managers and associate directors are friendly would suggest that the toxic culture comes from the managing director who makes no effort to know you unless you're billing triple figures AND stay late every single night -Generally just not the friendliest place to work and the job comes with an incredibly high level of micromanagement -People lie about their KPIs as they aren't checked and get praised for it but if your honest and don't manipulate your stats you don't look good -Will be searching for a new job in recruitment as the money is good but unfortunately Harnham is not a good place to work which is a shame as nearly all of the managers are very friendly and the company is only spoiled by a few money hungry managers that only care about filling their own pockets
