Pros

Remote work, autonomy and smart leadership.

Communication on vision could improve, but overall, since this is a high growth company, it is understandable that things are constantly evolving.

Pros

Co- workers are pleasant. Benefits are good.

Cons

Inconsistant leadership, mostly lacking in communication regarding role expectations, constant change in book of business without letting staff know. Aging data in claims - impossible to reach goals which are constantly changing. Middle management refers to the senior leaders as the firing squad.

Pros

Decent pay and PTO (but I have learned from others that have left recently that accumulated PTO doesn't cash out if you leave)

Cons

I have no clue how Healthmap has a 3.7 rating right now unless the positive reviews are old. Unfortunately, the culture here has deteriorated over the past year. I can agree with a previous review that said people are there one day and gone the next with no warning or explanation. Leadership’s lack of transparency and poor decision-making has caused everyone to be on edge (specifically speaking of the Provider Relations Department – work is siloed here, so I can’t speak for any other department). Blindsiding employees is common practice. Very unclear communication and most of us constantly feel like we are being set up to fail. Leadership has been trying to implement KPIs and use metrics more than before but the data they are pulling isn’t accurate. Systems are down a lot. There are no standardized processes and the answer you get to questions you have will vary significantly depending on who you ask. Communication is lacking. Hard work usually doesn't get rewarded but those who are the favorites of leadership get promoted and rewarded despite their subpar/nonexistent work and lack of experience. There isn’t much opportunity for growth in this department at this time. The Provider Relationship Managers and Provider Relationship Associates are doing a ton of data cleanup and not so much outreach to facilities as originally told to you when you start in the department. In the past year, they had rollouts of multiple different payors and none were well planned and the data came in off, causing major headaches every single time. Right now, this job is primarily research and data clean-up. The clean-up required takes forever to do (weeks- not days) and can get complicated and you have very little support. All that seems to matter to leadership anymore is the number of onboards and not if they are done correctly or accurately. Because it is a startup, processes are constantly changing. Decisions that impact work processes are made without any planning or strategy. There doesn’t seem to be anyone who thinks through these processes before they are rolled out to the whole department.

DO NOT WORK HERE

Pros

They pay all roles very well and have good benefits.

Cons

Though they pay well, the work culture is horrible. There is no work-life balance, even though the majority is remote. If you have ANY personal issues, they will lay you off because you are no longer assisting the company, even if you do not have personal issues (ex, you or a family member are ill). The best part is they will keep you warm and tell you that your job is not in jeopardy, but once they find a replacement, you will be laid off with the excuse of eliminating your position. While most people will write this review off as an unhappy ex-employee, I sincerely hope some will heed this warning. What I mentioned will/has happened to ALL roles within the company. There is also a significant lack of communication within the company. This company is reactive, not proactive; everything is a fire drill and needs immediate attention. If you are looking to stay with a company for a long time, this is definitely NOT the company for you. Their turnover is too frequent, and layoffs happen 24/7.

Don’t walk, Run!!

Pros

The coworkers under management, they pay well (literally the only way to keep people), they have decent PTO, and being partially remote. Literally everything else is toxic!

Cons

This healthcare organization exhibits a range of concerning issues that significantly impact its work environment and potentially its quality of care. The company structure appears top-heavy, with an excess of upper management leading to inefficiencies and communication breakdowns. A pervasive culture of micromanagement stifles the autonomy and job satisfaction of skilled professionals, particularly nurses. The lack of clear organizational direction leaves employees feeling unfocused and unmotivated. Alarmingly, nurses are often asked to perform tasks without proper policy support, creating both legal and ethical risks. The company is driven primarily by sales and financial metrics. Career growth opportunities are limited, with a noticeable lack of internal promotions. Instead, the organization consistently hires external managers who often perpetuate the micromanagement problem and may struggle to understand the company's internal dynamics. This combination of factors creates a problematic work environment. Overall, the organization appears to prioritize short-term financial gains over long-term stability and quality, which could have serious implications for employees.
