Pros
Heluna Health manages a large number of unique public health programs'/organizations' HR, benefits, and grants/contracts. Medical insurance was fully covered for individuals which was great. If you don't have to interact with them very much then you probably won't notice the cons listed below.
Cons
My experience is unique to my own program, but this company was hardly HR. Ineffective, causing more personnel issues rather than solving them. If you bring up a concern, they will dismiss you and blame you instead. They will talk over you and berate you rather than listen to what's being said. This happened repeatedly between them and a number of my peers, so it was not unique to my own relationship with them. They also forced our management to be secretive about critical matters that impacted our day to day. Lack of transparency and refusal to communicate with the program directly when requested. All of these office politics got in the way of the important and essential work that my program was doing.
