Flexible schedule; Average industry salary
Poor team leadership; Lack of role definition; Constant layoffs and organizational changes; Not open to new ideas and ways of working

Immediate managers great, benefits good and being able to work remote.
Do more with less is Highmark’s motto. Upper management continues to reduce the workforce and send jobs overseas. More work as annual increases get smaller and smaller.

Their pay rates are above average, and the benefits are amazing.
The culture and environment in my department.

Decent pay, flexible schedule options, equipment provided
Not informed on LGBTQIA+ communities, HR and Tech Support regularly misgenders and deadnames employees regardless of preferred names and pronouns being listed in the proper systems. Training period did not include training on all of the programs and essentials needed to complete job function. Extreme focus on "Brand Value" and excessively auditing calls. Rumors of corporate forcing employees who live within 1 hour of a physical location to return to office, even those who were hired to work remotely. Constant system and technical issues with only 1 tech employee on call over the weekend for hundreds of advocates. Not allowed to transfer departments for a year after hire date. No proper education provided on the fine print of PTO and when to use it, and no sick pay.3

Some of the brightest minds and kindest humans work at Highmark. There is a diverse blend of people. I found it easy to make connections and find friends. There are also many opportunities to learn if your leadership supports you.
The organization is very top heavy and very large. Managers have little control over framework of their departments if there is another similar department at the Enterprise level. There can be a lot of red tape and overlapping processes to get simple tasks done. The culture can be very different depending on where you fall in the organizations hierarchy.

None. Seriously. None. They ruined a great company.
No value for local culture. YELLED AT ME. First time I’ve ever been yelled at as an adult IN MY LIFE.1

Good benefits and work from home.
You can work to your best deal with all the problems help them through a terrible merge and they will let you go with no warning write up nothing. Management is very clique ish and stick together as a former employee I was targeted and retaliated against for no reason that sparked an investigation and was terminated after 1 year no warning or valid reason.
