Pros

Nice colleagues. All I can add.

Cons

Please, if you can, do NOT work for this company. I do not even have the words to begin my abysmal experience here. Senior management glorify Elon Musk to an obsessive extent. I was told verbatim, that I would not be shown respect if I did not work 12 hours a day, minimum. avoid at all costs

Pros

Huma is a place where hard work is expected, but also noted and appreciated. The firm has an entrepreneurial culture, which can feel wild-west at times but if you approach it the right way you have a great chance to shape your own experience. Engineering team is world class, so it’s a good place to learn and upskill. Colleagues are really nice. Big enough team to have proper technical depth in cross-functional squads while small enough to retain close familiarity across engineering. The team size also results in responsibility being afforded early in one's tenure, even when junior. I think this may be a characteristic that typifies the culture – it can be either stressful or exciting, depending on what you are looking for. Product is broad and fundamentally evolving such that you'll get to work on interesting things technically. While hard work is central to the company ethos, there is significant flexibility regarding when in the day this work occurs, particularly in engineering. Also the bark is worse than the bite in terms of the work-hard culture – generally people aren't clocking massive hours unless they genuinely want to be. Salaries are normal but bonus was good in 2025. Office is beautiful and there are nice perks like dinner if you work late. Big fitness culture in the executive team so if that's your bag there will be no end of chats about that. In short, a well resourced firm with nice, skilled people. I’m grateful for my time there and everything I learned.

Cons

Not a diverse team in engineering – all nice people though. Executive team rhetoric can sometimes lose sight of the fact that employees' incentives/motives aren't inherently or automatically aligned with that of the firm – and that this is rational on the part of employees. It's important to directly incentivise staff to keep them aligned (and keep morale high) when the firm requests high output. I feel like this was generally achieved by bonus season in 2025.
