Pros

Allowed us to work from home entire lockdown.

Cons

Constantly overworked, teams constantly understaffed. Been in tears multiple times to my manager, citing feeling overwhelmed and unvalued. Always told "I'm sorry I've let it get this way." Job steadily gets worse and worse anyway, and you're made to feel like it's your fault. No interest in keeping staff who have been there for years, or even paying out redundancy when team is reduced to 20% of the original staff. Tactic seems to be treat employees so badly they will just leave of their own accord. Ridiculous promotion structure that seems to be designed to promote as few people as possible. Constantly hiring to fill in gaps from resignations.

I’m really sad that you feel this way. Since Join the Dots and InSites Consulting joined forces we have been very open and honest with all staff about the future direction and plans for the business and have worked really hard to find everyone a role in the business that works for them. We have been able to do that for the majority of our people but I’m sorry if we haven’t been able to do that for you yet. On the other points you raise, we have promotions in the business announced every week across all departments and countries, with a high percentage being Manchester including the Operations team. And in terms of workload we are fully committed to staff having a good work-life balance and are busy recruiting additional team members to help achieve this. We’re proud of our people and business, but can always improve and we work tirelessly to do so. Quen, Head of People & Culture and former Join the Dots CEO

Thank you for your post. It is never pleasant to read one-star reviews, but we appreciate you taking the time to share your candid feedback in detail. While we cannot change the past, we are clear about what we want our future to be and addressing many of the issues you raise is underway. We know what we want our long-term future to be. We have a clear plan. We have great people working daily towards this plan. We have a client base who rates us highly (both anecdotally and via NPS scores). As you identify, we are in a tough environment, but you are also right to say we can still make good choices about our priorities. Sometimes these choices are hard but also necessary. And from those hard choices and a clear forward-looking plan we can build long-term success. People are at the heart of our business and will remain so as we move forward. Your feedback is valuable, and we will be using it to inform our on-going actions. Thank you again for sharing.

Pros

Lots of friendly and social colleagues, Well-being days, Social events, Paycare health scheme, 3 days per week working from home (although no flexibility at all on this in some teams), Paid leave over Christmas, Regular treats and games in the office, Regular charity initiatives

Cons

Some of the seniors/team heads are unapproachable, intimidating, very strict and hard faced, Favouritism and injustice within some teams, No choice of which projects/clients you work on, which proves difficult when wanting to work on a project you’re most knowledgable in and could work the best on so you do end up struggling with projects you have no experience with or understanding of, Very little diversity in ethnicity, mental health or neurodiversity (regarding ethnicity; some offices are 99% white caucasian which is concerning), Highly sales driven with immense pressure on staff, Poor work-life balance with a lot of late nights unpaid, Far too fast paced = high stress levels, A lot of meetings taking up much of the week, concluding in employees working late to reach deadlines, High staff turnaround, Hired a lot of new employees in 2022 and then made very sudden redundancies to many long-term employees and some new starters a week before Christmas during a cost of living crisis - little job security and sad to see many of our colleagues let go
