Pros

Pay is good, especially if you're in account management or sales. You'll lots of commercial knowledge and potentially some really transferable corporate skills.

Cons

You will not always learn things in a positive way. You will learn alot about corporate politics and culture from poor examples of it. There is often lots of autonomy, but this is driven from disinterested from management, not from being provided opportunities. This is often countered by random intense micro-management, even though you are consistently advised that's not at all what is happening. Inappropriate discussions on subordinates personal lives from management will often distract you from your work. Generally strange, boardering on unethical or illegal behaviour all round, and quite consistently. Nepitisum and favourtisem from every level in the business. If you are a grad then this is a good place to cut your teeth for your first year maybe. Otherwise, probably just steer clear.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We regret to see that you had a negative experience at IBISWorld, as we strive to create a culture where those who work hard and achieve their targets can thrive. We’re glad that you felt fairly paid and learned transferable skills – we are big proponents of training our staff. On that note, we also spend considerable resources to train our managers, so we will look at the management issues you mention to ensure that we are providing appropriate support in all areas. That said, one of the primary tenets of our culture is earned opportunity. Our managers are chosen based on technical skills, ability to learn our management role and desire to help others. If we’ve been unclear on how managers have been chosen, we will strive to do a better job communicating that in the future. Thanks again and we wish you the best for the future.

Thank you for your review. We’re glad to hear you find the environment and the management team to be friendly. We’re always looking to improve, so we genuinely appreciate your comments around our processes and KPIs, as well as the need for more training. We’ll look into this, but if you have any specific feedback, please speak with your manager or the General Manager at any stage – the more feedback we get, the better! Thank you again.
