Pros

Free dress environment. Starting from the ground up here in Durham lent to a lot of ground to ceiling development. Really wonderful co-workers.

Cons

Overbearing, sarcastic and egocentric management. You will fear for your job at all times. Some promises you hear upon hire will fall a bit short a complete lie.

Pros

INE provides a great environment to learn new things and grow technically. Tremendous job satisfaction in helping customers understand the technology via videos, live courses, and answers questions via emails and forums. Flexible work-environment, hours, and dress. Decent compensation (if full-time) and benefits (no out-of-pocket paycheck costs for health insurance). No micro-management (at least, from an instructors point-of-view...I heard much differently from people in Sales and Support). If you value the flexibility of a work environment that encourages learning and a good work-life balance, this could be for you.

Cons

As an instructor, you will never receive any feedback from other INE employees or management about how well you're doing. Owner of the company is erratic and seemingly impulsive in his decision-making. Priorities and direction for the company will change week-to-week and frequently employees will only discover these changes "through the grapevine". No transparency at all from upper-management. No visibility to the direction, financials, or future of the company. It could close shop tomorrow and this wouldn't surprise current employees. In the past, instructor-led Bootcamps as well as online videos shared equally in revenue generation and prioritization but that has changed. Majority of focus is now on increasing content of video library and the future of instructor-led Bootcamps is uncertain at best. If you value a company that is stable, and which will still be around ten years from now...this probably isn't the place for you.

Pros

- Relative autonomy in work - 100% paid healthcare - Relaxed environment - The people - Catered Friday lunches - Growing organization

Cons

- Minimal PTO - Almost non-existent parental leave (5 days) - Extreme lack of diversity within workforce, worse within management - No POC or women in positions Director level or higher - Career progression opportunity: open positions not internally posted, no signs of upward mobility from within - No HR - Relaxed environment sometimes unprofessional and disruptive - Not clear that strategy and planning associated with rapid growth
