Pros

There have been some very smart and talented people work here, but you have to look at the high turnover and wonder why they continue to keep leaving and then hiring more and more. I didn't personally know anyone who enjoyed working here, so be cautious of the overly happy reviews on here I feel as if the management want to do well for the people, but it is very misguided as there is a fundamental lack of understanding of wellbeing of employees, coupled with unrealistic expectations and a narrow, naive perspective on how business works.

Cons

Imagine someone continually shouting at you to complete an unrealistic task, whilst you are unsure what to do as they are not explaining it properly. By the time you figure out how to do it, you realise don't have the tools or resources or training to complete the task properly. You go to ask for support, but you are told that you are inadequate and you own the responsibility to learn since it's a startup. You go away and spend hours and hours learning and trying the task, working 14-15 hours a day 6 days a week. You are very tired and stressed. Then eventually you come to do the task, but now no one cares about this task anymore...you are expected to do something totally different.. something else unrealistic which you also do not have the tools or resources or training for and you are shouted at and made to feel inadequate again. A horrible, stressful, unfulfilling experience. I hope I never have to work anywhere like this again.

1/ Well being of employees - There are multiple initiatives that we have in place for employees to share their grievances - both face-to-face with the HR, their reporting manager and also anonymously should they feel the need for it. We have an open door policy in the office where every employee can share their concerns, ideas and suggestions with the founders directly. Above and beyond that, we have weekly reflection sessions, training sessions, recreational activities, monthly town hall where we acknowledge and appreciate some of the best performers of the month. We also try our level best to provide the best work environment by arranging board games and multiple other benefits. You are also aware that we work on flexible timings to suit the employees’ schedule. You must also be aware that we started an initiative where we had arranged for covid-19 insurance to support the well-being of our employees. People have stayed and grown in the company for well over 2-3 years which is a testament to how they feel about the company. Having said that, we want to take your feedback constructively as we are constantly striving to improve the work culture and environment to increase the employee happiness further. 2/ Training and Briefs - You have identified yourself as a Business Development (BD) team member. You already know that every BD member goes through a thorough one-week training before they take over their responsibilities and the training continues thereafter on the job. If the briefs were unclear to you, they could have been highlighted to your reporting manager and HR and we would have certainly addressed it. We believe that effective and timely communication could have easily solved this problem. 3/ Resources/Tools - As far as tools and resources are concerned, everyone has been given dedicated laptops, mobile phones and miscellaneous tech support to be able to do your job efficiently. So we are unclear about what tools and resources you are referring to here. 4/ Expectations - As a company, we believe in giving our employees an opportunity to grow holistically and as a result we do like to challenge them so they can have a steep learning curve - professionally as well as personally. We had your best interest at heart while challenging you because we saw more potential in you than you saw in yourself. We have had some great performers who have really moved up the ladder because of their sheer determination and ability to take challenges head on. For employees who do not meet these expectations, they are given timely feedback and put on a performance improvement plan (PIP) which is especially designed to help overcome the shortcomings faced by the employees. Many such employees have done really well during PIP and have moved on to become very high performers later on. 5/ Frequently changing tasks - As a business development employee, the KRA is usually very standard and does not change very frequently so the question of your tasks getting changed every few hours or even days does not even arise. However, in the wake of the pandemic Covid-19, companies across the globe have had to rethink and reassess their business models, objectives and execution strategies and so had we. If you had any discomfort due to that, then that was something completely outside our control. 6/ Work Hours - We do appreciate hard working employees but never have we stated that employees are expected to work for 14 or 15 hours a day. It can only happen if you were failing to be productive during the regular work hours which happens to be approximately 9 hours. We believe that this is sufficient amount of time to achieve most targets on most days. Also, we would like to clarify that we only work 1st and 3rd Saturdays and not on all Saturdays. 7/ Shouting - You have identified yourself to be from the Business Development team and the manager of this team is specifically known for his composure and positive attitude. He has trained many employees in the past and helped nurture their careers with a lot of patience and foresight. We have never had such a complaint before. Having said that, if you still thought that your manager was shouting at you, it was never reported to HR or the Founders. This issue could have been addressed immediately. ImpactGuru does not advocate bad behaviour of any sort from anyone at any level in the company. We take this very seriously. 8/ Support for former employees - We have also launched an initiative to help our former employees (even after they leave) by giving them hiring support to find promising job opportunities here on. We are happy to extend this support to you as well. Lastly, we want to thank you for acknowledging that the management wants to do well for the employees. The multiple testimonials from our customers who thank us every day go to show ImpactGuru’s positive intent and the power of our platform. We are proud of what we have achieved so far as a company and it would not have been possible without our dedicated workforce that leaves no stone unturned to fulfill our mission of saving maximum lives. We do wish you well and hope that you have a successful career ahead.
