Pros

The company is a market leader in its industry, there are a wide variety of roles

Cons

This used to be a flexible company and a great place to work. Despite making billions in revenue, they are consistently keeping salaries low and have mandated RTO for all UK employees regardless of personal circumstances. All the trust is gone and morale is low. It's a place where once an idea takes hold it goes through with very little risk assessment and always at the expense of colleagues. There is a huge us vs them mentality between different parts of the business and a lack of willingness to cooperate. At Informa, RTO just means you get to watch your colleagues ignore your emails in person.

Not Great and Getting Worse

Pros

- Fantastic, supportive and knowledgeable co-workers - Working on interesting books with some leading authors - Working from home for those colleagues who happen to be on the right contract - ShareMatch scheme helps offset poor salary

Cons

- Forced return to work policy at short notice and lack of clarity, without consultation or accounting for increased costs for staff, lack of suitable office space, the impact on those with other responsibilities and women, disabled colleagued and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds - Poor salary which has consistently not kept up with inflation, leading to significant real terms pay cuts - Lack of career opportunities (particularly permanent roles) which will only get worse if home workers are excluded from applying for vacant roles - Communication is atrocious and consultation on important decisions affecting staff is non-existent - Enormous revenue from unethical AI deal not shared with staff - Excessive and increasing workload which is exacerbated by unrealistic expectations from management and failure to replace staff - Regular redundancies in various parts of the business - Increasingly vacuous corporate culture punctuated by empty platitudes
